Marco Island e-bike rider seriously hurt in crash with car

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (WINK)— A woman riding an e-bike was airlifted to a trauma center after a crash with a vehicle at the intersection of Holly Court and North Collier Boulevard.

Marco Island Police, Fire Rescue and Collier County EMS responded to the scene just after 3:30 p.m Wednesday, according to the Marco Island Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

With more people out on the roads this summer, police are urging drivers to slow down and watch for bicyclists, e-bike riders and pedestrians.

The Marco Island Police Department Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
