Pickup truck reported stolen from Lehigh Acres; troopers catch suspect in South Fort Myers

A man was arrested in South Fort Myers early Wednesday morning after being accused of stealing a pickup truck.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, at around 1:22 a.m., troopers received information that a Chevrolet pickup truck in the area of I-75 and Daniels Parkway was reported with a stolen tag. The truck was located at Gulf Coast Medical Center.
FHP said that troopers initiated a traffic stop on the truck on Ben C Pratt Parkway, and that the driver was identified as Iledier Molina Diaz, 35. Further investigation revealed that the truck was stolen from Lehigh Acres.
Inside the truck was equipment that could be used to tamper with the steering column to steal the truck, FHP said. It was also noted that Molina Diaz had a warrant out for his arrest on charges of failing to appear in court.
Molina Diaz faces charges of grand theft auto, possession of burglary tools and failure to appear.
