Suspect wanted for multiple felonies caught after crashing U-Haul vehicle into tree in Collier County

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — The Collier and Lee county sheriff’s offices responded to a crash involving a U-Haul truck containing a suspect wanted for multiple violent felonies out of Lee County. 

On Wednesday, law enforcement began tracking the unnamed suspect in the area of Lakewood Boulevard and Boca Ciega Drive after the suspect fled from an earlier attempted traffic stop.

Collier deputies reported that the male suspect eventually crashed into a tree at the location and began to flee on foot. He was later apprehended by law enforcement and taken into custody for eluding law enforcement.

WINK News contacted the Collier County Sheriff’s Office regarding this crash and arrest. They confirmed that they were in pursuit of the suspect at the previously named location and that they would contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office regarding this case, since the suspect was wanted in Lee County.
