SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking a stalling front and increasing tropical moisture, leading to rain this Wednesday and Thursday.
Wednesday
Wednesday is starting on a wet note across Southwest Florida, with spotty showers moving through the region during the morning hours. Rain chances will continue to increase through the day as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop during the midday and afternoon hours, bringing around 60% coverage. Some of the stronger storms could produce gusty winds and pockets of heavy rainfall. Despite the unsettled weather, temperatures will remain comfortable, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-80s.
Thursday
The unsettled pattern continues into Thursday. Isolated showers will be possible during the morning commute before scattered showers and a few thunderstorms become more scattered through the late morning and early afternoon, especially across southern portions of Southwest Florida. Rain chances will gradually decrease by the evening as activity tapers off. Temperatures will stay below average for early June, with highs once again topping out in the mid-80s.
Friday
A noticeable change arrives Friday as slightly drier air filters into the region. Morning temperatures will start in the 60s and 70s, while dew points fall into the mid-60s, making conditions feel less humid and more comfortable. Rain chances will also trend lower, with only isolated afternoon and early evening storms expected and coverage around 30%. Afternoon temperatures will warm into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees.
