Authorities investigate reported bomb threat at Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston

A reported bomb threat at Hendry Regional Medical Center prompted Clewiston police and Hendry County Sheriff's Office deputies to respond to the scene Friday afternoon.

The Clewiston Police Department said this is an active and ongoing investigation. Residents and visitors were asked to avoid the area and allow emergency personnel to conduct their operations.

Police also asked the public to refrain from calling 911 or dispatch for information regarding the incident unless an individual has a true emergency or information directly related to the investigation.
