CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Cape Coral Parks & Recreation announced the return of the Summer BreakSpot free meal program, expanding from four to six park locations across the city.

According to a press release, children and teens ages 18 and under can receive no-cost weekday lunches from June 8 through July 29 at participating Cape Coral parks. The program is a collaboration between Cape Coral Parks & Recreation, the School District of Lee County, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Five parks will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Del Prado Linear Park, Gator Trails Park, Paul Sanborn Park, Jim Jeffers Park, and Four Freedoms Park. Four Freedoms Park will also offer breakfast from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., with lunch served from 12 to 1 p.m.

No meals will be served on June 19 and July 3. Families who cannot attend daily sites can pick up seven-day meal kits at Crystal Lake Park on Mondays from 8 to 9:30 a.m., providing breakfast and lunch for a week.

The Cape Coral Fun-Mobile will kick off the program at Crystal Lake Park on Monday, June 8, from 8 to 11 a.m., offering free games and activities for families.

The Fun-Mobile will rotate to various park locations throughout the summer to provide additional recreational opportunities for participating youth.
