NAPLES, Fla. (WINK)—Friends are searching for answers weeks after a North Naples woman died in what deputies are calling a suspicious death.
The Collier County Sheriff's Office says 43-year-old Deena McNelis was found dead in her home on Mangrove Avenue last month after a welfare check. Deputies have labeled her death as suspicious.
Some neighbors in the Collier County community plan to remember McNelis with a celebration of life. Her friend describes her as a loving mother and a best friend.
WINK News asked the sheriff's office if they could confirm a cause of death or clarify why they believe the death is suspicious. Their team says they have provided all they can at this time and that it is still an active death investigation.
