Three Oaks woman bails on court hearing following arrest on drug possession charges

A Three Oaks woman has a warrant out for her arrest after she failed to show up to a court hearing for an arrest on drug possession charges, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.

Crime Stoppers says Kate Mitchell, 38, was initially arrested when officers spotted her pulling into an area known for narcotics activity. Crime Stoppers adds that Mitchell had previous interactions with law enforcement, and they knew she did not have a valid license.

Officers say they noticed Mitchell was carrying drugs on her, including cocaine in her car, fentanyl in her phone case and a straw full of methamphetamine in her bra.

Mitchell was arrested and spent three weeks in jail before being released pending her next court date. A warrant was put out for her arrest when she failed to appear.

Mitchell is 5 feet 2 inches, weighs 130 pounds and also has a second active warrant on charges of failing to pay child support. Upon her arrest, she will be held without bond.

If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
