Cape Coral expands free summer meals for kids at 6 parks

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK)—Cape Coral Parks & Recreation has expanded its Summer BreakSpot free meal program from four to six park locations across the city.
Children and teens ages 18 and under can receive no-cost weekday lunches from June 8 through July 29. The program is a collaboration between Cape Coral Parks & Recreation, the School District of Lee County and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The following Cape Coral parks will offer meals:
• Four Freedoms Park: Breakfast from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., lunch from 12 to 1 p.m.
• Del Prado Linear Park: Lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Gator Trails Park: Lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Paul Sanborn Park: Lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Jim Jeffers Park: Lunch from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Seven-day meal kits will be available at Crystal Lake Park on Mondays only from 8 to 9:30 a.m. The kits provide a week's worth of breakfast and lunch for families who cannot attend daily sites.
The Cape Coral Fun-Mobile will be on-site at Crystal Lake Park on June 8 from 8 to 11 a.m. to kick off the program. The Fun-Mobile will offer free games and activities for families and will rotate to different park locations throughout the summer. No meals will be served on June 19 and July 3.
