Florida unemployment claims drop for third straight week, U.S. Department of Labor says

First-time unemployment claims in Florida have decreased for the third week in a row, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.

About 5,100 people filed initial unemployment applications last week. That’s down about 800 claims from the week before and 3,000 from early May.

This week’s numbers are now more in line with the state’s average first-time unemployment claims for the year.
