Sunday Outlook
Another beautiful day is ahead across Southwest Florida, but it will be a hot one. Temperatures will start off comfortably in the upper 60s to lower 70s, with slightly lower humidity still in place. Unfortunately, that won't provide much relief from the heat, as heat index values will still climb into the triple digits in some areas this afternoon.
Actual air temperatures will reach the low to mid-90s. Rain chances are slightly higher today, but most locations should remain dry through much of the day. Any showers and thunderstorms that develop will likely form inland during the afternoon before pushing toward the coast later in the day. The best opportunity for rain will be between 4 PM and 8 PM.
Winds will be out of the east at 5 to 15 mph.
Monday Forecast
We'll start the workweek a bit warmer, with morning temperatures in the upper 70s. Humidity levels will also creep up slightly compared to the weekend, although conditions will remain somewhat drier than what is typical for this time of year.
Afternoon highs will once again reach the mid-90s across much of Southwest Florida, so be sure to stay hydrated if you'll be spending time outdoors. Rain chances remain low, but a few isolated afternoon thunderstorms cannot be ruled out. A more noticeable increase in moisture is not expected until Tuesday.
Looking Ahead
Rain chances will begin to increase by the middle of next week as deeper tropical moisture returns to the region. The highest coverage of showers and thunderstorms is expected from Thursday into the weekend, when rain chances climb to around 60%.
Temperatures will remain consistently warm, with afternoon highs staying in the 90s throughout the week.
Tropics
According to the National Hurricane Center, no tropical development is expected over the next seven days.
Boating Forecast
Heading out on the water? Don't forget the sunscreen and plenty of water.
East winds will range from 10 to 15 knots, with Gulf seas running 1 to 2 feet, a slight improvement compared to the past few days. Expect a light chop on area bays.
