Cape Coral man allegedly breaks into RV while in women's clothing

CAPE CORAL, Fla. (WINK) — Cape Coral Police arrested a man on Monday after he allegedly tried to break into an occupied RV while wearing women's clothing.

According to Cape Coral Police, officers responded to a burglary in progress at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday. The victim reported they were inside their RV, which serves as their residence, when an unknown man allegedly approached and attempted to open the locked door multiple times.

The suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Devon Turner, was said to have been wearing women's clothing, including leggings and a tank top, and carrying a small women's backpack. After failing to gain entry, Turner allegedly disconnected the RV from its power source.

Officers arrived and made contact with Turner. He then told officers he was on his way to court and was searching for clothing to wear.

Turner's court date was related to a prior burglary, according to CCPD. Based on the investigation, officers determined Turner attempted to unlawfully enter an occupied dwelling with the intent to commit theft.

During a search, officers said they found about 2.9 grams of a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine inside Turner's backpack.

Turner was taken to the Lee County Jail and faces charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and possession of methamphetamine.
