Fawn rescued from fencing after being chased by people on ATVs in North Port

A fawn was rescued from a fence by a North Port police officer after it was chased by people on ATVs.

According to the North Port Police Department, Environmental Conservation Officer Dominick Caravella responded to the scene to help a fawn that had become trapped in a fence. Reportedly, it had become trapped after being chased by people on ATVs, NPPD said.

With assistance from Sarasota County Animal Services, Caravella safely freed the fawn and ensured it received medical attention.

The fawn suffered minor injuries and was shaken up by the event, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are looking to identify the people who chased the fawn on ATVs.
