FEMA approved more than $90 million to support recovery projects in Florida following the impacts of Hurricanes Helene, Milton, and Ian, with some of the money going towards the Gulf Coast.
As part of the $90 million approved, the following funding is being distributed to projects on the Gulf Coast:
-$10.7 million is allocated to the South Florida Water Management District for Hurricane Ian emergency protective measures
-$1 million allocated to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office for Hurricane Milton emergency protective measures
-More than $678,000 allocated to the Town of Fort Myers Beach to repair and replace public park equipment following Hurricane Ian
-More than $5.7 million allocated for Charlotte County to improve the durability and safety of traffic signals
