SAN CARLOS ISLAND, Fla. (WINK) — The South Trail Fire & Rescue Service District and Iona McGregor Fire District responded to an entrapment call, extracting a man who fell while working on a barge.
Along with Fort Myers Beach crews, first responders received the initial entrapment call at around 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
First responders were able to successfully rescue the entrapped man, transporting him to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries.
WINK News traveled to the scene where reporter Haley Jacobs spoke to a barge worker who said the trapped worker had been sandblasting one of the barges and fell into a hole.
