A man was arrested after police said a months-long Lego theft scheme resulted in a Cape Coral Walmart along Del Prado Boulevard South losing more than $1,300 in Lego sets.According to the Cape Coral Police Department, Tyler Dean Lovering, 33, is accused of repeatedly using barcodes to purchase more expensive Lego sets at reduced prices from February through April.Police said the prices of the stolen sets, which included themes such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Frozen, ranged from $23.97 to $261.97. According to CCPD, the barcodes used during the transactions scanned between $4.00 and $4.97, and the scheme occurred more than 12 times.The store had a total loss of $1,354.61, according to the CCPD news release.Cape Coral detectives said they found the stolen Lego sets at Lovering's residence and in a storage unit, and also found barcodes in his wallet while searching him after his arrest.
