Facebook and Instagram appear to recover after Meta hit with widespread outage

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — Facebook and Instagram were suffering from widespread outages on Friday morning.

“We're aware people are currently having trouble accessing our services. We're working on it,” said Meta spokesperson Andy Stone.

Outage tracking website Downdetector.com reported a spike in users facing issues on the platforms starting just after 9:00 AM.

"We're coming back, though it may take a bit of time for everything to be fully back to normal," said Stone.
