LEE COUNTY, Fla. (WINK) — A Lee County man says roads near his home are in need of a little TLC.
Vincent O'Connor regularly drives the overpasses in south Fort Myers. The county opened left-turn flyovers at Gladiolus and Summerlin 20 years ago, but lately, Vincent says, they're showing their age.
"Those overpasses are becoming ugly because nobody is paying attention to the paint," O'Connor said.

He pointed out black marks covering the structures. He also noticed weeds growing out of the side of one overpass that had grown thick and tall, almost becoming a tree.
"So, I would like to see the county put some kind of a maintenance thing in place, so that these don't become eyesores," O'Connor said.
WINK News reached out to Lee County to check the maintenance schedule and learned Vincent won't have to wait long. In October, the county commission allocated more than $129,000 for cleaning, painting and repairs on the bridges at Summerlin and Gladiolus.
The project is about to go out to bid. It won't be long before Vincent's commute is looking good as new.
Lee County's bridges are inspected annually, and county staff says maintenance is done as needed. If you see a road with potholes, missing signs or in need of minor repairs, you can make a request for action through https://www.leegov.com/dot/requestforaction, and Lee DOT will take care of it.
