LABELLE, Fla. (WINK) — Hendry County has lifted its burn ban, giving residents the green light to have outdoor fires again.
According to an official release, the ban on unregulated outdoor fires was lifted on Tuesday, June 16.

While burning is now allowed, officials are asking residents to keep a few safety rules in mind.
Burn piles must remain small, no more than 8 feet in diameter. Anything larger will require authorization from the Florida Forest Service.
Fires must be started after 9:00 a.m. and put out at least one hour before sunset.
Residents should also never leave a fire unattended and should always have a water source nearby.
Before heading out, officials recommend checking weather conditions and making sure the fire is completely out before leaving the area.
