Feathered friends from Parrot Outreach Society flapped into the studio Tuesday morning.Volunteers brought in a Blue and Gold Macaw and spoke about why more people should think about getting a bird.The nonprofit's mission is to rescue and rehabilitate parrots and eventually get them adopted. Last year alone, it was able to find homes for more than 200 birds.You can visit the volunteers taking care of the birds at their Punta Gorda location, 1205 Elizabeth St., down the road from Charlotte High School. There, you can also discuss adopting one of these birds.If you would like to help the organization continue caring for birds, feel free to visit its website. You can also adopt.
