Parrot Outreach Society's Blue and Gold Macaw visits the studio

Feathered friends from Parrot Outreach Society flapped into the studio Tuesday morning.Volunteers brought in a Blue and Gold Macaw and spoke about why more people should think about getting a bird.The nonprofit's mission is to rescue and rehabilitate parrots and eventually get them adopted. Last year alone, it was able to find homes for more than 200 birds.You can visit the volunteers taking care of the birds at their Punta Gorda location, 1205 Elizabeth St., down the road from Charlotte High School.
