The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season has arrived, and while no storms are currently forecasted, United Way is emphasizing its resources to help families recover after disasters. United Way collaborates with more than 90 local agencies to provide recovery assistance, but not everyone feels comfortable asking for help. One of its key programs is United Way 211, a confidential, year-round hotline designed to connect people with the help they need. Interim Chief Impact Officer Madison Mitchell shared more about United Way 211 and the organization’s overall impact on Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties.
