A Collier County deputy rescued a driver after a crash and performed CPR to save their life.According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Cpl. Troy responded to a crash where the driver was trapped inside on May 3. When he found the driver, who was the only occupant, unconscious and unresponsive, he broke the driver-side window, cut the airbag, and pulled the driver safely out.Cpl. Troy then noticed the driver wasn't breathing, so he began CPR until he found a pulse before paramedics arrived and took over, the sheriff's office said.The driver was taken to a hospital, and doctors later confirmed the driver was alive after the crash, where they credited Cpl. Troy, according to the sheriff's office.For his actions, Cpl. Troy was awarded the CCSO Lifesaving Award.
