SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking a hotter and drier pattern through the end of the workweek, with dangerous heat becoming the main concern.
This afternoon & evening expect mostly dry conditions with only a few inland showers or storms possible. High temperatures will reach the mid-90s, but it will feel much hotter, with heat index values between 100° and 105°.
By Thursday the heat ramps up even more. Afternoon highs will once again reach the mid-90s, while "feels like" temperatures climb into the 103° to 109° range. Some locations could approach Heat Advisory criteria for the first time this summer. If possible, limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day especially as we close out the work week. Only isolated inland storms are expected.
On Friday, another hot and humid day is expected. Highs will remain in the mid-90s with heat index values between 102° and 108°. A few more afternoon and evening storms are expected, with isolated activity developing inland and moving east. This heat could be dangerous to anyone doing strenuous activity outside.
