A new memorial honoring veterans who served during the Vietnam War is coming to Marco Island. The Marco Island City Council voted to approve the installation of a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Sculpture in Veterans’ Community Park. The project is being led by American Legion Post 404, which has spent months developing the memorial's design in partnership with a California-based sculpture studio.According to Post 404, the bronze sculpture will feature lifelike detail comparable to the renowned Three Soldiers statue located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.The memorial is expected to cost approximately $500,000. To help cover expenses, the organization is launching a fundraising campaign and is seeking support from residents, veterans, and community members who wish to honor those who served during the Vietnam conflict.“We want to create a lasting tribute to the veterans who fought and sacrificed for our country,” Post 404 leaders said.Donations may be sent to American Legion Post 404, P.O.
