The State Attorney's Office chose not to file charges against Andrew Sheets, 61, after he was accused of recording people illegally in a bathroom at the Naples Pride festival held at Cambier Park on April 18.According to the Collier County Clerk of Courts' website, the document was filed on June 11 and the State Attorney's Office cited "insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt."The Naples Police Department had arrested Sheets on charges of digital voyeurism 19 years of age or older - first violation and digital voyeurism dissemination - first offense.Sheets previously told Gulf Coast News in an interview that the video he posted online led to his arrest. He claimed that he was documenting "grooming" at the event. The footage appeared to show Sheets filming himself in a public restroom and then capturing a mirror reflection of other men using the restroom.Naples Pride also addressed the incident in a Facebook post, stating, "The irony is difficult to ignore. A man who publicly accused our community of 'grooming' now stands accused of unlawfully recording people in a place where privacy is expected."DOWNLOAD the free Gulf Coast News app for your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet.
