A Cape Coral man is wanted by law enforcement after he failed to show up for his court date following a grand theft and DUI arrest, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.Crime Stoppers says Richard Gorman, 47, was initially arrested after he was hired to fix a victim's car and ended up stealing it. The victim noticed that her car had gone missing, and told police that Gorman was the last person who had access to it.When police issued a BOLO for the car, they found it and Gorman behind the wheel, Crime Stoppers says. Police say Gorman also had a half-empty bottle of vino and showed signs of impairment. Gorman reportedly told officers that he had permission to use the car, but could provide no evidence, they say. The victim showed officers communications between the two, which reportedly made no mention of any permission given to take her car. Gorman was arrested on grand theft and DUI charges after officers say he also failed a field sobriety test.Gorman was released pending a court date, which he failed to show up for.
