A new warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Lee County man after he was accused of violating his probation stemming from a DUI manslaughter arrest.According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Leroy Bass, 47, was speeding on a road at 4 a.m. when he swerved into a curb, overcorrected, and flipped his car several times. The passenger of the car was ejected and later died at the hospital.When police arrived at the scene, officers said that Bass smelled strongly of alcohol and told officers a story that someone was trying to rob him, which is why he was speeding and crashed the car. Officers discovered Bass was more than three times the legal limit when the crash occurred, Crime Stoppers said.He was arrested on DUI manslaughter charges and spent time in the Lee County Jail before being found guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison. He was released on probation.Crime Stoppers said Bass violated that probation last month in relation to a domestic violence incident in Osceola County.Bass has 23 prior arrests on charges of contempt, armed burglary, grand theft and leaving the scene of an accident.
