NAPLES, Fla. — The U.S. Men's National Soccer Team is heading to the Round of 32 after another big win.
The team beat Australia 2-0 this afternoon, and fans in Southwest Florida had plenty to celebrate.
WINK Sports reporters Alex Orenczuk and Lauren Halpern were at the watch party at the Paradise Coast Sports Complex in Naples.
The win came without star player Christian Pulisic, who did not play in the match.
Fans at the watch party were thrilled with how the team performed.
"Great match overall. It's sad that we didn't have our captain there, but we still did good either way," one fan said.
Another fan reflected on how far the sport has come in the country.
"Seeing how long we've come as a nation and I think it's important when we get moments like this where we're all connected, you know, for the common goal," the fan said.
This win follows last week's 4-1 victory, giving the team strong momentum heading into the next round.
The U.S. will return to the field on Thursday when they take on Turkey.
