Firefighters have responded to multiple brush fires as storms moved through our Gulf Coast.Charlotte County Fire and EMS officials said crews were dispatched to the area of Oil Well Road at approximately 5:14 p.m. Monday. Firefighters found an approximately five-acre brush fire that has since grown to 30-40 acres. According to Charlotte County Fire officials, no injuries have been reported, and no homes have been damaged at this time as crews work alongside the Florida Forest Service, DeSoto County Fire Rescue, PG Fire and the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.According to the Florida Forest Service, crews have battled three fires in Lee County.As of approximately 8:11 p.m. Monday, FFS said a five-acre fire ignited in the Yellow Fever Creek Preserve in Cape Coral and is 70% contained; another has grown to three acres and is 60% contained in the area of The Heritage community in North Fort Myers, and one near E 19th Street in Lehigh Acres grew to 0.25 acres and is fully contained.DOWNLOAD the free Gulf Coast News app for your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet.
