The Clewiston Police Department announced that the department will be utilizing state-of-the-art Halos Body-Worn Cameras for all patrol personnel.According to CPD, the new cameras were made possible by approval from the Clewiston City Commission and a community grant from TJX. CPD said the grant from TJX enables the department to be equipped with the best tools available without placing an undue financial burden on local taxpayers.CPD said the new Halos system goes beyond basic recording and features hi-fidelity audio and one-touch activation."This means a reinforced commitment to objective truth and enhanced transparency during every interaction," CPD said.CPD anticipates the new system will be fully deployed to the department by the end of July.DOWNLOAD the free Gulf Coast News app for your latest news and alerts on breaking news, weather, sports, entertainment, and more on your phone or tablet.
