ENGLEWOOD, Fla. (WINK)—Fire crews are battling two lightning-caused brush fires in the Myakka State Forest.
According to the Florida Fire Service, both fires have burned at least 150 acres combined. The fires are 35% contained.
North Port Fire Rescue says no structures are being threatened. Crews may remain on scene throughout the night.
Residents living near the Myakka State Forest may see smoke and falling ash in the area. There are no road closures in place, but drivers are asked to be careful if traveling through the area.
