Marco Island police responded to reports of a dead dolphin on a beach on Wednesday morning.
According to the Marco Island Police Department, officers responded to the beach area between the JW Marriott and Residents' Beach this morning after a dead dolphin was discovered.
MIPD said that the death does not seem suspicious at this time.
Officers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were notified and are responding to the scene.

MIPD is asking members of the public to avoid the area of the beach while the agencies conduct an investigation.
