TSA PreCheck launches a new Touchless ID option for a smoother travel experience

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) launched a new Touchless ID feature with its PreCheck system, in a partnership with Google Wallet.

The new TSA PreCheck Touchless ID feature allows members to quickly verify their identity using facial recognition technology in dedicated lanes, eliminating the use of physical identification documents and reducing wait times.

How it works

If you are eligible to travel with a digital ID:

1. Check in with participating airlines and add your boarding pass to Google Wallet.
2. Opt-in with a "Get started" button in Google Wallet, which will redirect you to the TSA consent page.
3. Authorize sharing your digital ID and boarding pass in Google Wallet with TSA.
4. TSA will confirm your enrollment.
5. Google Wallet will update your boarding pass with a TSA PreCheck Touchless ID indicator.

Where you can use it

This new technology is available in 65 airports nationwide, including multiple airports across Florida.

Alaska, American, Delta, Hawaiian, Southwest and United airlines are all participants for this new Touchless ID, but you will need to manually opt-in for each individually.
