Troopers arrest man accused of driving 123 mph in 70 mph zone in Lee County

Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrested a man they say was driving more than 60 mph over the speed limit in Lee County on Wednesday.

According to FHP, troopers pulled over a driver who was traveling on the I-75 overpass near Luckett Road. Troopers said the driver was speeding at 123 mph in a 70 mph zone.

The driver, identified as Jose Garcia-Carangelo, 19, was arrested, FHP said. He faces a charge of operating a vehicle in excess of the speed limit by more than 50 mph.
