Youth Haven children and teens enjoy annual wakeboarding outing in North Fort Myers

About 30 children and teens from Youth Haven spent a day wakeboarding at Revolution Cable Park in North Fort Myers during an annual summer outing made possible by local donors.

Walter Schacht, a senior vice president and wealth advisor at Truist Bank, has sponsored the event since 2017, helping nearly 300 youth served by the nonprofit participate in the confidence-building experience. Lunch was donated by local entrepreneur Erik Papenfuss.

Youth Haven serves as a sanctuary for children and teens who have experienced abuse, neglect, or homelessness. The non-profit said the outing is one of several summer enrichment activities it offers while school is out.
