Cape Coral man injured, transported to hospital after deadly I-75 crash in Broward County

A driver from Cape Coral was seriously injured in a deadly crash that occurred on eastbound I-75 in Broward County Friday evening, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

In a news release, FHP says that a 2020 Tesla Model 3 driven by a 45-year-old woman from Parkland was driving west on the eastbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 36.

A 2026 BMW X3 driven by a 25-year-old man from Cape Coral was driving east on the eastbound lanes when the front of the Tesla collided with his vehicle, FHP says.

The Tesla driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The Cape Coral man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

FHP says the crash remains under investigation.
