A Lehigh Acres mother is speaking out after a man entered her home while her teenagers were alone Friday afternoon.
"My son Dylan called and he asked, 'do you know the man in the Tesla truck?' And I said, 'no' And he goes, 'oh, he just walked into our house,'" Jessica Young said.
Young explained that one of her sons had just received a food delivery and forgot to lock the front door. Her other son noticed a dark Tesla Cybertruck outside their home and saw a man approaching the house.
"He sees the man walking around on the side of the house. So he runs back inside. So when he runs back inside, he was kind of like hiding in the dining room a little bit and then he comes around the corner and the man walked in," Young said.
Security footage shows the man on the phone before opening the door, entering the home, and closing the door behind him.
"I don't know what he was doing there, who he is, why he was there, and why, like, obviously, he was waiting for somebody to open the door, and then he just helps himself in, you know why he was walking around? It's just very scary. I thank God that my kids are okay," Young said.
Young said the man was inside her home for three minutes before Lee County deputies arrived. She is urging others to stay vigilant and lock their doors.
"It is very scary. I mean, it could have ended really bad. Just the thoughts of, like, what could have happened? Thank God it didn't Or, you know, we're going to be much safer going forward," Young said.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office has been contacted to determine whether the man has been located or if he is facing charges.
