A Fort Myers man has a new warrant out for his arrest after failing to appear in court following an arrest on drug and weapons possession charges, according to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
Crime Stoppers says Jermaine Neal, 28, was initially arrested during a traffic stop. Neal was the passenger in a car, and the driver was pulled over because officers said they were overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana in the vehicle.
During the stop, officers said they noticed cocaine and marijuana on Neal's person, as well as a firearm with two loaded magazines, something Neal is not permitted to have as a convicted felon.
Neal was arrested and was released pending his next court date, which he missed.
Neal is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has two teardrops and a cross tattooed on his face. He could be using the names "Matthew Gutierrez" or "Black Leonard" in order to avoid arrest.
If you have information in this case, you are asked to contact Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477), on the P3 app, or on its website. You can remain anonymous, and if your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $3,000.
