A pedestrian is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Clewiston that happened early Sunday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers are still looking for the driver.
FHP says that an unknown vehicle was traveling south on US-27, approaching Francisco Street. A pedestrian was attempting to cross the travel lanes of US-27 at the same time.
The vehicle hit the pedestrian, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. FHP says they're still trying to identify the pedestrian.
Post-collision, FHP says the driver drove away from the scene. Troopers say the vehicle is possibly a dually pickup truck with left front damage.
FHP is asking anyone with information regarding this crash to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
