The man accused of killing a Fort Myers gas station clerk with a hammer is facing another charge in connection with the death of 28-year-old Julia Curvo.
State Attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit of Florida Amira Fox announced that Rolbert Joachim is facing a second-degree murder charge for Curvo's death.
Curvo's body was found on Jan. 29 along Hough Street and Third Street, eight days after she was reported missing. Fox stated that Curvo's cause of death was strangulation.
Joachim, who is an immigrant from Haiti, was arrested for the murder of Nilufa Easmin, also known as "Yasmin," following a manhunt on April 2.
On June 5, the State of Florida filed a motion to seek the death penalty for Joachim in connection with the death of Nilufa Easmin.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office and Homeland Security previously spelled the suspect's last name as "Joachin". The State Attorney's Office clarified the spelling Monday as Joachim.
