When Ian, Michael, Hari, and Sidd met a few years ago, starting a band only made sense.
Since then, they've become like brothers. Music gives them an outlet for their talent, but more importantly, it gives them connection in a world where they can often feel alone.
"People like Michael graduate high school and they fall off a cliff," said Scott Weinstein, Michael's dad. "There's really nothing for them anymore."
That's why Scott and other parents founded ICON, a college-level Naples music conservatory for young adults with disabilities.
"We got together and said it has to be," Scott said. "Because otherwise, these young men and women are going to graduate to the couch."
Life is better with music. It doesn't just give us our favorite songs. It gives us friendship. And, for these young men in ICON, it gives them a place to belong.
