Alligator Alcatraz corrections officer accused of battery on detainee

A corrections officer at Alligator Alcatraz in Collier County was arrested after he was accused of battery on a detainee.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office's arrest report, Stephen Jordan Trejos, 24, of Lutz, was arrested on June 24 and taken to the Naples Jail Center.

According to court documents, the incident happened on Jan. 25 and involved a man who was detained at the facility.

Trejos is facing a first-degree misdemeanor battery charge. He is scheduled for a pre-trial conference on Aug. 26, and he filed a waiver of arraignment and a plea of not guilty, according to the Collier County Clerk's website.

Alligator Alcatraz closed on Thursday.
