LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida wildlife officials are looking into how an alligator head ended up discarded along a roadway.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it is aware of the discarded alligator head found along State Road 82 in Lee County and is now looking into what happened.
Killing an alligator outside of the established hunting season or without the proper permits is illegal, according to the FWC.
Anyone with information can report it to the FWC's Wildlife Alert Program by calling 888-404-3922, submitting a tip online or using the FWC Wildlife Alert app. Tips can be made anonymously.
