There are plenty of ways to celebrate Independence Day besides fireworks. Here's a roundup of Fourth of July weekend events happening across Southwest Florida.
Fishermen’s Village Independence Weekend Celebration — Spend the afternoon in downtown Punta Gorda at Fishermen’s Village enjoying live music from The Cedrick Talton Experience, Mark Gorka and From the Edge Band.

Fourth Fest at Laishley Park — Fourth Fest is a celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States with nonstop entertainment for the entire family. This year’s event features The United Way Kids’ Fun Zone, with a large variety of family fun including slides, giant game inflatables, a foam carwash, bubble station, face painting and more.

Boca Grande Sandbar Freedom Fest — Join the floating boat party at the Boca Grande Sandbar Freedom Fest, featuring a live DJ, MC and festive crowd.

Freedom 5K & Kids Fun Run — A morning run or walk presented by the Chamber of Commerce of Cape Coral that takes participants over the Cape Coral Bridge and back.

Sanibel Community Church Pancake Breakfast — Kick off Independence Day with one of Sanibel’s most beloved traditions. The annual Pancake Breakfast brings together residents and visitors for a morning of hometown hospitality, great food, and community.

The Chili Dog Eating Contest — Hosted by Chef Brian Duffy, contestants compete for a great cause, with outdoor bars, food, live entertainment and music by DJ Juan. Proceeds from the event benefit the local nonprofit Family Initiative, which supports individuals and families with autism.

Downtown Fort Myers Celebration — Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary in downtown Fort Myers with patriotic music and festivities during the day.

Step Into History — Edison and Ford Winter Estates will celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a series of Step Into History events. Throughout the site, patriotic decor and music will be evident.

Fourth of July Party at Bay Street Yard — Bay Street is pulling out all the patriotic stops with festive food and drink specials — including red, white and blue Jello shots — live music, a dunk tank and street-side grilling by Paradise Hospitality Group, which will be serving up hot dogs and burgers along Bay Street.

Salty Sam’s Patriot Boat Parade — Salty Sam’s Marina is inviting boaters from across Southwest Florida to participate in the inaugural Salty Sam’s Patriot Boat Parade on Saturday, a patriotic celebration honoring America’s 250th anniversary. The event will bring together recreational boaters, local residents and visitors for a festive parade around Fort Myers Beach and Estero Island. Participating vessels are encouraged to decorate their boats in red, white and blue while displaying American flags in celebration of 250 years of freedom and independence.

Reading of the Declaration of Independence — Local historian Jacob Winge delivers a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence while dressed in authentic 18th-century period costume. The event features an Estero Fire Rescue truck displaying a large American flag.

Bonita Springs Parade — The parade joins communities across the country in celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Red, White & Mimosas at Rooftop — Join Rooftop at Riverside for its third annual Red, White & Mimosas as Bonita Springs celebrates 25 years of its annual Fourth of July parade. Enjoy a morning of bottomless mimosas, breakfast and patriotic vibes from the second floor overlooking the parade route.

America’s 250 Block Party — This full day of activities celebrates America’s 250th anniversary and features a treasure hunt and more.
Where: Paradise Coast Sports Complex, 3940 City Gate Blvd. N., Naples
When: Friday, July 3, 2026, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
4th of July Parade — A new parade route expected to garner large crowds in the heart of Naples.
Where: Parade participants will walk east on 5th Avenue South and turn south (right) onto 8th Street South, ending in front of City Hall. Officials asked people not to sit along 3rd Street South, as staging will be taking place there.
When: Saturday, July 4. The parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the corner of 3rd Street South and 5th Avenue South. Road closures will last from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Parking along the parade route will be prohibited beginning at 2 a.m. on July 4, with towing enforced, according to the Naples Police Department.
