MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (WINK) — Marco Island law enforcement responded to a brush fire along Whiskey Creek Drive.
According to the Marco Island Fire Rescue, the small fire was due to a blown transformer. The fire has since been extinguished, and law enforcement has cleared the scene
Marco Island's fire and police departments responded to the fire Monday afternoon and stated that there is no danger to the public at this time.
Nearby power outages have occurred due to the brush fire, affecting residents in the area.
Lee County Electric Company representatives are on location working to address the outages. It remains unclear how long impacted residents will be without power.
