Law enforcement responds to brush fire in Marco Island, traffic impacted

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. (WINK) — Marco Island law enforcement is currently on scene combating a brush fire along Whiskey Creek Drive.

Marco Island's fire and police departments responded to the fire Monday afternoon and stated that there is no danger to the public at this time. 

Nearby power outages have occurred due to the brush fire, affecting residents in the area. 

Lee County Electric Company representatives are on location working to address the outages. It remains unclear how long impacted residents will be without power.

Law enforcement urges travelers through the area to exercise caution while first responders work the scene.
