Shop WINK SMART this 4th of July: Top-rated grills worth your money

FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) — Several major retailers are offering significant discounts on grills in July, with savings ranging from $50 to hundreds of dollars.

The 4th of July sales are happening at Lowes, The Home Depot and Weber, to name a few.

The Home Depot's sale runs through Wednesday, July 8, and includes deals on gas, pellet and flat-top grills.

Lowes sale ends Monday, July 6, and includes a wide variety of items including grills, appliances, and outdoor equipment.

A list of grills is listed for $50 to $100 off on the Weber website for the 4th of July. There is no end date listed for the sale online.

Consumer Reports tested numerous gas grills and identified top performers in each size category.

Starting with CR's best small gas grill, the Weber Spirit E-325, a three-burner model, earned top marks for even heating, preheating, temperature control and grilling performance. It's currently on sale at Lowes for about $500 until July 13, according to its website.

For medium-sized grills, the Monument 4-burner propane gas grill 25392 stood out with high scores and a lower price point than premium competitors for CR.

It is available on Wayfair for $300 with a 15% off coupon for the Fourth of July, which is $40 less than it is priced at Walmart and $95 less than BigBig Mart.

The Weber Spirit E-425 ranks among Consumer Reports' best performers for large grills. It offers many cooking capabilities of more expensive Genesis models at a cheaper price but is not currently on sale. Prices are holding steady for this grill at $679 across several retailers.

Buyers looking for the biggest discounts should consider waiting until late July or August when retailers typically offer deeper markdowns to clear out summer inventory.
