The preliminary report from wildlife officials says a 12-foot gator was confirmed as the animal that attacked a 31-year-old woman who was swimming in a Central Florida river.

Bite marks on the victim matched one of two alligators Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials killed after the attack on June 28.
The victim, Brittany Clark of Orlando, was hiking with her boyfriend and friends near the Barr Street Trailhead in the Little Big Econ State Forest when they stopped to swim with their dogs.
"They were in approximately 3 feet of water," said Grant Eller with FWC. "The water levels are lower due to a statewide drought, so it is lower in that area."
That's when they said the gator bit her.
FWC's report says the alligator grabbed Clark by the arm and began a death roll. Clark's boyfriend grabbed the gator and tried to get it to release Clark, but the gator took them both underwater.
The gator released Clark for a moment before biting her other arm, the FWC report says.
"(The boyfriend) attempted to bring them both to shore when the alligator finally let go and CPR was started on shore," the report says.
Clark was ultimately declared deceased at a hospital.
"A row of teeth on the gator head is consistent with teeth marks on the left arm," the report says.

The caller described Clark's injuries, "both her arms are dislocated ... off basically ... one arm is completely off.
