According to Collier County, the section of the roadway, which runs for about 1.8 miles just east of US-41 to the east of Goodlette-Frank Road, will be widened from four to six lanes. Most of the widening will occur in the existing median, as the roadway was originally planned and permitted for six lanes.
The county said that most of the construction activities requiring lane closures are planned for daytime hours between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The approximately $28.4 million project is expected to be completed in two years.
