SOUTHWEST FLORIDA (WINK) — WINK News Weather Authority meteorologists are tracking another round of scattered storms as we begin this work week.
Another round of scattered storms is expected Tuesday, but rain chances drop off for the rest of the week.
Tuesday morning will feature a partly cloudy sky, with a few showers possible near the coast. Temperatures will start in the mid to upper 70s before climbing into the lower to mid-90s during the afternoon. Expect a mix of sun and clouds through the early afternoon before scattered storms develop and continue into the evening. Rain coverage sits at 50%.
Rain coverage drops to 30% on Wednesday and then to just 20% on Thursday. During this stretch, temperatures will climb well into the mid-90s, with a few communities making a run at the upper 90s.
An upper-level ridge and accompanying area of high pressure will promote hotter, drier conditions across Southwest Florida for several days.
The Weather Authority is also tracking a layer of Saharan dust expected to arrive in Florida later this week. You can find the latest updates on TV on WINK News.
